Job Description

Do you enjoy bringing together partners and organizations in a collaborative effort to make a positive impact?

The Workforce Board Engagement Coordinator will report to the Strategic Partnerships Manager in the Workforce Development Division in Columbia.

This highly visible role supports the strategic and day-to-day operations of the State Workforce Development Board (SWDB), comprised of Governor-appointed representatives and the engagement of Board members and State agency partners in the strategic planning, execution, and alignment of statewide workforce initiatives, playing a key role in tracking, coordinating, and promoting implementation of workforce development priorities, supporting the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) State Plan and the Unified State Plan (USP).

The coordinator will support management, serving as the main contact for board members, represent the agency in meetings and on work groups, regularly communicate about agency initiatives and activities, and foster partnership and collaboration with internal and external partners to align goals and implement strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Under general supervision, the Workforce Board Engagement Coordinator will:

  • Assist with the daily operations of the State Workforce Development Board to ensure that the Board operates efficiently.
  • Support the planning and execution of quarterly committee and full board meetings.
  • Collaborate with the recommendation, development, and implementation of SWDB priorities.
  • Coordinate, participate in, and offer support for special projects.
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite applications to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Exhibit strong organizational and project management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Showcase interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Adapt to new assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Utilize exceptional customer-service approach to working with internal and external partners and co-workers.

Requirements

Education and Experience
A high school diploma and relevant program experience.

Additional Requirements

Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite applications to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Teams. Proficient in using Adobe.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years relevant experience in business administration, public administration, or project management.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; comfortable with networking and facilitating relationship-building.
Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, with strong organizational skills, as well as excellent attention to detail.
