MOS Code: NoneEducation and Experience: A High School diploma or GED or higher and four (4) years' experience in an office environment involving public contact, in promotion of public programs and services, or in a teaching or training environment.
Licenses and Certificates: Texas class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state.
Requirements
Under general supervision, perform administrative support functions associated with coordinating educational programs to help promote water conservation. Help distribute information and materials to the public to promote and enforce El Paso's water conservation ordinance.
Qualifications
Assist in the preparation, development, delivery, implementation and presentation of educational programs, printed brochures, displays used at citywide public events and installation of demonstration sites. Involves: Help present water mascot and other educational programs to school children. Assist department staff in the maintenance and installation of outdoor exhibits. Assist department staff by conducting other educational presentations for all age groups to inform public of water conservation programs, regional issues and new technology. Assists with implementation of variety of conservation outreach programs to include rebate and/or incentive programs. Conduct indoor and outdoor audits to assist in developing water conservation plans for customers. Assist in preparation of monthly reports including benchmark progress measures. Perform general office duties including: filing, answering telephone calls, retrieving information from the phone system, typing, copying, faxing and entering data, researching information and supporting staff in their duties.
Support utility initiatives to increase public awareness of conservation practices, learning and volunteering opportunities offered by the utility. Coordination with departments to implement and disseminate utility's media campaigns messages, recruit, train and coordinate volunteers, present education presentations to target audiences, guide and schedule tours and school field trips, support organization and implementation of educational events. Receive and respond to written or telephone inquiries from the public about the conservation initiative and education programs. Write and arrange promotional information about services offered. Performs other duties as required.
