Full Job Description

Supervises staff to include preparing performance planning and evaluation documents and related personnel paperwork. Coaches, counsels, and trains employees. Establishes and monitors work processes. Implements management policies and initiatives and promotes teamwork within the organization. SCDOT Project Manager in Inspection of all areas and activities of bridge and road construction for conformance with plans and current edition of the Standard Specification for Highway Construction. Prepare monthly construction estimates. Maintains a filing system. Keeps hard copies for the office and electronic copies in Project Wise based on the Quality Management Review Checklist. Prepares and checks daily work reports as well as meeting minutes for regularly scheduled construction progress meetings. Review contractor's CPM Schedule. Prepares as-built construction plans and completes project closeouts. Utilities Coordination. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management and one (1) year of engineering or construction management work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence.

Physical Requirement: The physical demands for the essential functions of this position involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. This position may require travel. This position may require bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, and kneeling. This position requires driving and walking for extended periods, treading rough and uneven terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and natural environmental hazards. May be required to work outside of normal work schedule, especially during inclement weather and/or other departmental-related emergencies. This position may be exposed to outside environment in all weather conditions and noise. Works 40 hours a week.

A motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
