This posting will be used to fill multiple summer internship positions in the Department of Transportation District 3 Construction and/or Maintenance offices located in Greenville, Spartanburg, Pickens, and Oconee Counties.
In the area of Engineering, the responsibilities include:
Assists in the areas of surveying, construction, inspection and/or material sampling and testing.
Assists roadway inspectors in the inspection of roadway construction, including areas of asphalt paving, earthwork, base, drainage operations, and concrete placement operations.
Aids with office duties, preparing construction reports and daily work reports in Site Manager, assists with reconciling quantities to close out projects.
Assists survey parties, uses surveying equipment correctly to measure elevation, distance, and set vertical and horizontal controls.
Pay rate is between $17.00 - $23.00 per hour depending on qualifications.
