This job involves leading a team of inspectors to oversee highway construction projects in Pennsylvania, ensuring everything meets safety and quality standards while handling permits and reports.

As a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor, you will provide comprehensive training, guidance, and assistance to subordinates to ensure for technical competency and overall optimal performance throughout the completion of transportation projects.
You will coordinate and perform supervisory work in processing and issuing occupancy permits by assigning work, training other inspectors as required, reviewing work for compliance with applicable departmental regulations, and resolving complex problems.
Specific duties will entail providing oversight for the review, processing, and permitting of incoming applications, in addition to logging, tracking, and routing right-of-way plans, traffic impact studies, and general applications for internal reviewing or external consulting engineers.
You will also visit county offices to inspect for proper issuance of permits and to review the work of employees engaged in occupancy site inspections.
Excellent organizational skills are vital in order to maintain detailed records and files, and compile both regular and special reports with accuracy and precision.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Carlisle. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
