As an Equipment Operator with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, you play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our roadways, especially during the challenging winter months when snow removal is essential.
Your responsibilities extend well beyond plowing—you’ll also support a wide range of construction and maintenance projects where your skill and attention to detail directly strengthen our transportation infrastructure.
Each day offers hands-on, physically active work that underscores the importance of teamwork, communication, and dedication.
In this position, you’ll operate heavy equipment, perform minor repairs, and carry out routine maintenance to keep vehicles and machinery operating safely.
You’ll also complete accurate daily logs and reports that track equipment usage and service history, helping maintain smooth operations and accountability across the team.
