***This is a CCAF Position*** In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, GS-1712 Series.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems.

Examples of specialized experience includes: knowledge of a wide range of instructional concepts, methods, and techniques required to develop and plan a variety of difficult and complex online courses associated with teaching advanced technical systems or subject- matter areas.

Knowledge of the methods, principles, practices, and programs related to online curriculum development, instructional techniques, training resources, and test and measurement.

Knowledge of training/certification requirements for military and civilian personnel.

Knowledge to apply standard analytical and evaluation techniques to training requirements, plan for and develop training materials, evaluate training effectiveness, and solve problems relating to training issues.

OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed a Ph.D.

or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.

OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

*FOR COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF THE AIR FORCE GS-1712 POSITIONS: Section 9315 of 10 USC directs the commander of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to comply with standards established by the Secretary of Education to confer associate degrees upon enlisted members who have completed the requirements for the prescribed programs of study.

To comply with this directive, all faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e.

all teachers must hold at least an associate's degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria. NOTE: You MUST submit a copy of your transcripts.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in­-grade requirements to be considered eligible.

One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.

NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of a wide range of the principles and practical methods, techniques, and tools of instruction to teach a variety of students with a range of differences such as diverse ages, backgrounds, and levels of interest.

Knowledge of online training at a practical level to include latest educational practices, techniques, and processes for the analysis of curriculum and selection of appropriate delivery methods for faculty and staff of officer and enlisted initial skills, advanced and/or supplemental technical training.

Knowledge of tests and measurement principles, techniques, and objectives. Skill in accomplishing special training studies and projects.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to analyze problems and develop appropriate solutions.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

Continued from Summary Section: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a technical training instructor performing technical training instructor-related activities, supporting development modification, revision, validation, and delivery of online curricula for advanced and/or supplemental technical training.

Courses enable faculty and staff to accomplish the mission of the Air Education and Training Command (AETC).

Duties: Instructs students through assigned blocks of instruction at basic and/or advanced technical/administrative levels of faculty development courses.

Researches, develops, revises and recommends updates to faculty development course materials in accordance with established training requirements.

Plans, develops, executes, and evaluates comprehensive and effective training programs.

Maintains professional and technical proficiency in specialty area; leads and accomplishes difficult special projects requiring research and innovative solutions related to online learning; accomplishes staff surveillance/assistance visits to training activities.
