This job involves leading a team of workers to check, fix, set up, and maintain traffic lights and related equipment in the city.
It's a supervisory role where you'll direct electricians and ensure everything runs smoothly for safe roads.
A good fit would be someone with hands-on experience in traffic systems, a technical education, and strong leadership skills who wants a stable city government position.
Directs a crew of Traffic Control Electricians and related personnel in inspecting, maintaining, installing, and repairing traffic control equipment and fixtures.

A current, valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License is required prior to appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.

Qualifying Requirements:
Your City of Pittsburgh application will be reviewed, and your work experience and education/training will be evaluated to determine if you meet the qualifying eligibility requirements listed below for this position. You will be sent an eligibility letter regarding your eligible/ineligible status.WORK EXPERIENCE: The application must clearly show three (3) years of full-time experience in traffic signal installation or maintenance or a related field. (Less than full-time will be calculated on a pro-rated basis).
EDUCATION/TRAINING: The application must clearly show an Associate's Degree from a fully accredited institution in Electrical Engineering, or a related field. (See NOTE under the General Application Requirements Section above regarding the verification of education/training).
EQUIVALENCY: Education/training may be substituted for work experience on a year-for-year basis if the application clearly shows the required number of years to meet the Total Qualifying Requirement for this position (based on the sum of work experience and education/training listed above).
The Total Qualifying Requirement is three (3) years. (See NOTE under the General Application Requirements Section above regarding the verification of education/training).
