You will assist and work closely with skilled Gardeners to cultivate and care for ornamental plants and lawns on County properties.

You will assist with mowing lawns, fertilizing, pruning, trimming, mulching, and transplanting plants, shrubs, and trees and other general maintenance tasks.

Work involves the use and maintenance of hand and power tools and the ability to work outdoors.

How to be Successful in the Role:

Provide great customer service for our tenants and prioritize work orders while working with a team of professional gardeners.

Have a positive and enthusiastic work presence while also working independently.

Proactively address landscaping and irrigation issues and maintain the highest quality in workmanship and customer service.

Core Daily Responsibilities:

• Assist with maintenance of grasses, flowers, shrubs, and flower beds. General grounds maintenance of county owned facilities.
• May assist with laying sod, installing irrigation systems, and performing other duties related to gardening or landscaping projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• This is an entry-level position. Prior work experience and or knowledge in the field will be considered.

Special Requirements:

• Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Washington State Driver's license.
