This temporary job involves hands-on maintenance work for Pierce County's wastewater systems, including cleaning facilities, inspecting and repairing pump stations, landscaping, and setting up safe work zones while directing traffic.
It's a physical role outdoors in various weather, running from May to September with a regular schedule.
A good fit would be someone reliable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn who has experience in construction or similar labor and a clean driving record.

You will be an integral part of our team performing various maintenance functions across Pierce County.
Some of those tasks include facilities cleaning, landscaping, construction work around manholes, concrete work, and bagging fertilizer.
As an extra hire maintenance worker, you will enjoy a regular schedule Monday – Friday (Wastewater changes to 4-10’s for summertime, Monday through Thursday.) You can count on Pierce County to provide PPE, tools, and a safe place to work.
You will work out of several possible locations: Puyallup and University Place to various places in Pierce County.
