Job Description

Summary

This temporary summer job involves assisting with a kids' art camp at the Corbin Art Center in Spokane, where you'll help run activities, manage supplies, and keep things clean for children ages 3-11 from mid-June to late August.

It's a part-time role with hours from 11 AM to 3:30 PM on weekdays, excluding the week of July 4th.

A good fit would be someone energetic and patient who enjoys working with young kids and has basic organizational skills, even without prior experience.

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to move banquet tables and chairs

The City of Spokane invites applicants to apply for the position of
TEMP SEASONAL - SUMMER CAMP ASSISTANT
TEMP SEASONAL - SUMMER CAMP ASSISTANT

The Camp Assistant helps coordinate the Corbin Art Center's Corbin Kids Summer Fine Arts & Crafts Camp for youth ages 3-11 held June 15 through August 21, 2026. Typical work hours will be Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM - 3:30pm PM or as scheduled. No camp will be scheduled during the week of 4th of July.

Requirements

The following Responsibilities and Requirements are functions the individual who holds or desires the position must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Attend instructor training and orientation session.
  • Facilitate the children’s supervised lunch program and recess outdoor games and activities.
  • Assess art supply needs, restock classrooms and maintain supply storage areas.
  • Work with camp instructors to assist with camps.
  • Preparation of daily art projects.
  • Housekeeping to include daily cleaning, mopping bathroom floors, vacuuming carpets, and sweeping of classrooms.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 yrs of age.
  • High school/GED graduate.
  • Ability to lift to 20lbs.
  • Ability to move banquet tables and chairs.
