The City of Spokane Parks and Recreation Department is looking for a temp-seasonal

Aquatics Customer Service Representative

to be a part of our winning team, contributing to the success of our summer.

Under the direction and supervision of the aquatic supervisor, this position will provide customer service for the City's aquatic facilities. This team member will assist our aquatics customers by answering multiple phone lines, replying to e-mails, assisting with program registration, responding to public interest about programs and class information, provide a variety of general information to patrons on aquatics programs and assist guests with general inquiries.

This temp-seasonal position typically runs through September.
This position will be eligible for up to 40 hours per week.

Requirements

The following Responsibilities and Requirements are functions the individual who holds or desires the position must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation.

REQUIREMENTS OF WORK:
  • Answer phone calls
  • Respond to emails
  • Assist with program registration
  • Assist with daily operations
  • Assist in maintaining order in compliance with established rules
  • Periodic site visits to City pools and aquatic facilities as required
  • Various administrative duties to enhance overall customer experiences as needed
WORK RELATED REQUIREMENTS:
  • Skill in using effective telephone etiquette to provide courteous, informed assistance to thegeneral public
  • Skill in using software applications related to program operations
  • Skill in communicating effectively in person, on telephones and through e-mails
  • Ability to track and respond to daily e-mails
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Manual dexterity to type and use a computer on a daily basis

Qualifications

  • Must be at least age 18 upon date of appointment
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must agree to submit to a background check
  • Must be willing to work weekends/nights/holidays if needed (the majority of hours will beweekdays)
  • Must be comfortable conducting telephone conversations
