Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to create and update technical manuals for electronic attack systems used in naval aircraft, ensuring the information is accurate and distributed to the military fleet.

It focuses on overseeing the development and dissemination of these publications to support operations and maintenance.

A good fit would be someone with experience in technical documentation, leadership in engineering teams, and a background in electronics or defense systems.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-11/12 level or equivalent, coordinating technical publications and providing updates across projects
  • Ability to provide leadership and technical oversight for verifying data in operations and maintenance manuals
  • Experience distributing tasking across technical publications development teams
  • Knowledge of electronics technical standards (0856 series)
  • Familiarity with naval or defense systems, particularly airborne electronic attack
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance (implied for DoD role)
  • Relevant paid or volunteer experience in technical support or engineering

Full Job Description

You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the Electromagnetic Spectrum Department (WX), Airborne Electronic Attack Systems Division (WXS), Airborne Mission Operations Engineering Branch (WXSX), Airborne Mission Acquisition Support Section (WXSXL) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.

The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions.

This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $137,000).

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: coordinating and providing technical oversight on the dissemination of technical publications to the fleet and providing updates across all projects.
