This job involves helping users fix issues with computers, laptops, printers, and other devices in a busy state government tech team, while also recommending upgrades and teaching others how to use software.

Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems, make adjustments, repairs and/or performs preventative maintenance on computers, equipment, etc.Backs up computer data periodically to prevent unwanted data losses.Provides assistance and/or on-the-job training.Provides technical assistance on agency issues, services, program(s), and/or computer hardware and software, etc.
Qualifications test software using appropriate methodology and techniquesdetermine what is causing an operating error and determine resolutionuse equipment management system software provide consultation and/or expert advice or testimonycommunicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; read and understand information presented in writingspeak clearly, concisely and effectively; listen to, and understand, information and ideas as presented verballyuse State or agency-specific software application program(s) Additional Information Employment contingent on passing a drug screening and a background check.On call rotation is required in this position.Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.Work requires physical exertion.
May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
