This job involves using specialized tools and technology to measure land and points accurately for highway and infrastructure projects in Pennsylvania's Department of Transportation.
You'll collect data in the field, stake out locations for construction, and use computers to prepare reports and maps that help build and improve roads.

As a Survey Technician, you will perform detailed technical activities involving the use of conventional, electronic, and GPS surveying equipment to measure exact locations of points and areas to best support the engineering needs of unit projects.
You will be tasked with collecting data at critical points with prism and pole to create design files for highway maps, as well as staking right-of-way and bridge points as directed.
You will also utilize various computer programs to upload survey information to prepare essential reports and plans.
Throughout every task, you will ensure that delivering high-quality results for our customers remains a top priority.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Hollidaysburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
