Requirements
As a Health Care Nurse Surveyor, you will uphold the department's mission by ensuring hospitals, surgical centers, and clinics meet federal and state regulatory standards. Your role involves conducting diverse inspections such as annual, complaint, and abuse investigations to determine eligibility for licensure and federal certification. Using laptops and tablets, you will gather evidence and apply regulatory guidelines to document findings and draft formal citations. You will be responsible for preparing survey reports and evaluating provider plans of correction to ensure compliance. Additionally, you will manage follow-up activities and revisit surveys to verify that all deficiencies are resolved, ensuring the continued safety and quality of public health care.
In this position, you may be assigned to function independently, with a partner, as a member of a team, or as the designated team coordinator during on-site surveys. Travel will be required within the counties of Northampton, Lehigh, Bucks, and Montgomery. Furthermore, you will be required to carry a cell phone and respond to complaints during off-hours.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position requires irregular work hours.
- Frequent statewide and overnight travel as operationally necessary
- Home Headquartered: This position is home headquartered. In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $67,736.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Special Requirements:
- This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
- If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
- This position requires successful completion of the relevant provider-specific federally mandated training provided by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services within one year of hire.
- This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
