This job is for a supervisory IT specialist in the Florida Air National Guard, where you'll lead a team in managing computer systems and networks, set work priorities, and handle employee performance and training.

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a SUPV IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN)(TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2158P01 and is part of the FL HQ 101 AOG, National Guard.
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C.
709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians.
PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized.
Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.
Recruitment / Relocation: Incentive MAY be authorized. ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.
Recruitment Incentive: May be paid to the candidate who is "newly appointed" into this federal government position. The bonus will be NTE $10,000.
Payment will be a lump sum payment at the beginning of employment.
The candidate must agree in writing to remain in this position for a minimum of 12 months, and if they vacate that position for another technician, AGR or active-duty service position within the initial 12-month period, the Incentive may be recouped.
Current onboard technicians, if selected, are not eligible for this bonus. FLNG BUS Code 8888: This position is "excluded" and ineligible for labor organization representation.
Military Grades: Enlisted: E7 thru E8 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE - GS12: Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-11 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization.
Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls.
Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment.
Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion.

As a Supervisory IT Specialist (SYSADMIN), GS-2210-12, you will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
Evaluates work performance of subordinates. Gives advice, counsels, or instructions to employees on both work and administrative matters.
Interviews candidates for positions in the unit; recommends appointment, promotion, or reassignment to such positions.
Hears and resolves complaints from employees, referring group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher level supervisor or manager.
Effects minor disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands, recommending other action in more serious cases.
Identifies developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training. Finds ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed.
Develops performance standards.
