Qualifications: For the GS-13, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-12 if outside the Federal service.

Specialized experience is defined as: Experience in managing an Army personnel program to make recommendations for the implementation of military service and agency regulations, practices and policies.

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement.

Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in Federal Service.

You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Major Duties:

  • Plans, directs, and organizes military personnel activities and is solely responsible for maintaining personnel data base management integrity.
  • Analyzes significant military human resources management issues and problems and develops recommendations and alternative solutions.
  • Reviews incoming and outgoing correspondence and ensures the Army populace is infirmed of new programs or procedures.
  • Oversees data integrity in Army Human Resource System (AHRS), Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army (IPPS-A), and DISA's Corporate Management Information System.
  • Maintains a cordial relationship with staff officials and HRC to stay abreast of all pending and potential personnel programs changes. Interpret and disseminates guidance and policy originating at higher levels.
