Full Job Description

You will serve as a Supervisory General Engineer in the Engineering Directorate of SUPERVISOR OF SHIPBUILDING BATH.

Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to next lower grade level/pay band NH-03 (GS-13) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer providing engineering, technical, and management on engineering an quality assurance matters for naval construction and repair.

  • You will provide professional engineering, technical, end management leadership on engineering quality matters.
  • You will direct and coordinate to work of the Engineering Department.
  • You will be responsible for the overall planning and execution of management functions necessary to ensure meeting department and command objectives.
  • You will conduct program management reviews, evaluates compliance with policies, objectives, and standards, overall effectiveness of operations and is final authority in the solution of specific management and technical problems.
  • You will monitor the Quality Assurance efforts in establishing uniform and systematic procedures and processes for governing directorate operations.
  • You will ensure programs are In accordance with SUPSHIP Operational Manual.
  • You will act as quality advocate and mediator for engineering and quality issues that cannot be resolved at the Quality Assurance Officer or Engineering Manager level.
  • You will supervise the Deputy Waterfront Chief Engineer and has responsibility to advise and counsel employees, resolve grievances and complaints, ensure employee receive adequate training.
