Under the direct supervision of the Supply Manager this position:

  • Receives, sorts and verifies quantities of supplies received from various vendors. Makes receiving adjustments as necessary. Responsible for the storage and delivery of supplies and packages to delivery locations. May require assembling some products.
  • Develops, maintains and implements a detailed inventory control system. Requisitions supplies and equipment for warehouse. Investigates property losses and other inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensures that all buildings remain stocked with residential, housekeeping supplies and office supplies.
  • Coordinates pick up of items to store or surplus from various areas at Pee Dee Center. Coordinates with Supply Manager at Pee Dee Center for identifying items for surplus and arranging for pick-up.
  • Cleans the Pee Dee Center Warehouse Areas in accordance with Fire and Safety Regulations. Ensures that all equipment is kept in safe and dependable condition including delivery vehicle(s), forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Performs additional duties as required.
This position is located at the Pee Dee Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD located in Florence, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Requirements

A high school diploma and work experience directly related to the area of employment. Valid Drivers License. Knowledge of warehouse operations. Ability to operate a forklift. Ability to drive box truck.

Qualifications

Prefer two (2) years of related experience in warehouse receiving, inventory, and storage. Knowledge of supply and inventory control practices and procedures. Knowledge of procurement principles and practices. Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures applicable to property and inventory control. Skills in operation of computer based software/programs such as South Carolina Enterprise Information System (SCEIS) as well as Word and Excel. Ability to plan and oversee the work of others if necessary. Ability to exercise discretion in interpreting and applying departmental policies and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with management, other staff, and vendors. Ability to operate a pallet jack and forklift.

Employment Contingency: Employment is contingent upon our receipt of the following required pre-employment screenings: medical screening – to include a drug screening; background record checks (to include fingerprinting), South Carolina Department of Social Services’ Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry screening, U.S.

Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General “List of Excluded Individuals/Entities” screening; South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record check; and a review of transcripts verifying educational credentials.

All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, Varicella and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.

State Disaster Plan: In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, employees of The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.
