Summary

This job involves overseeing fuel storage, distribution, and related contracts at a Navy support facility, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the US NAVY SUPPORT FACILITY DIEGO GARCIA .

The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze.

Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: - Knowledge of programs and procedures relative to fuel distribution, handling, and storage facilities, and contractor performance.

- Knowledge of the Navy's shore facilities planning system, contract management practices, and funding procedural controls related to fuel facilities projects planning and execution.

- Ability to resolve fuel issues with conflicting program requirements and review supply programs for adequacy, efficiency, and be able to identify processes in need of improvement.

- Knowledge of contract provisions and clauses related to contractor performance, with the ability to execute ACOR responsibilities and advise Contracting Officers on the progress of fuel distribution operations and facilities projects.

  • You will serve as the Assistant Contracting Officers Representative responsible for tracking progress and providing oversight of contract performance for petroleum management and operations.
  • You will supervise performance of all petroleum maintenance and administrative operations and makes operating and managerial decisions.
  • You will review proposed designs for new Petroleum Oil Lubricants (POL) facilities, support facilities, utilities, and repair of existing POL facilities to ensure optimum effectiveness and efficiency in fuel storage.
  • You will interpret higher HQ policy to develop and/or recommend new or revised directives and provides management and other petroleum specialist guidance related to policies.
