Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of engineers and technicians in testing and evaluating weapon and combat systems for the Navy's small combat vessels, ensuring they work well for the fleet through engineering support, cybersecurity, and problem-solving.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY TECHNICIAN in the SMALL COMBATANTS TEST & EVALUATION BRANCH, COMBAT SYSTEMS TEST & EVALUATION DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, located in Port Hueneme, CA.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing In-Service Engineering and fleet support programs for weapon and combat missile systems, to include modernization, systems engineering, cybersecurity, and Test & Evaluation (T&E).

  • You will serve as the first-level supervisor for the Small Combatants Test and Evaluation branch personnel to involve the technical and administrative management of engineers, technicians, and product support personnel.
  • You will coordinate across work groups and other organizations to accomplish and successfully execute test and evaluation goals and objectives.
  • You will manage and utilize branch personnel to accomplish the quantity and quality of work expected within set limits of cost and time.
  • You will identify requirements, estimate costs, develop and negotiate Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Task Planning Sheets (TPS).
  • You will perform supervisory functions of personnel, performance and financial management.
  • You will investigate combat system and test and evaluations issues, concerns, and problems discovered and work to resolve it.
  • You will contribute to the development, maintenance or evolution, and execution of Command policies, strategies, and initiatives in support of today's mission as well as the evolution of mission to support tomorrow's warfighters.
