To qualify for a Supervisory Supply Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position.

To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.

Creditable specialized experience includes: Establishing and continuously improving the receipt, handling, storage, inventory accuracy, packaging, and distribution policies, procedures, and practices that enable efficient customer support; Overseeing operational process and management regarding matters of Material Readiness to include audit readiness, management internal control compliance and risk management; and Directing corrective action or recommending investment to mitigate non-compliant operations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

  • Serves as Division Chief for the DLA Distribution, Directorate of Distribution Operations (J-4), Materiel Readiness Division (J-4).
  • Responsible for administration of DOD / DLA mission policy, development of standard procedures, functional process management and conducting operational reviews of mission operations.
  • Serves as Kitting, PPPM, HAZMAT and Stock Readiness, Sub-Process Owner (SPO) and senior advisor on Materiel Readiness operations and processes to the DLA Distribution Commander and Director of Distribution Operations (J-4).
  • For all matters relating to Materiel Readiness, develops and administers policy, develops and documents procedures (SOPs), ensures effective process health and measurement and emphasizes process compliance and improvement.
  • Maintains oversight for all Materiel Readiness processes to include: kitting; stock readiness; packaging, packing, preservation and marking; and hazardous material.
