Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading a team to manage and oversee an insider threat program at a defense agency, focusing on developing plans, providing expert advice, and ensuring the program's effectiveness against internal security risks.
It requires supervising staff, analyzing policies, and collaborating with other government groups to protect sensitive information.
A good fit would be someone with strong leadership experience in security, a deep understanding of threat detection, and the ability to handle high-stakes, time-sensitive decisions in a military or cyber environment.
This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service.
It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA.
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.
Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Knowledge of Insider threat policies and procedures sufficient to execute and evaluate activities in support of an Agency-wide insider.
Threat Program; develop, interpret, and analyze policy and procedures to develop the most efficient and effective solutions for management.
Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume.
All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
Additional Information: PPP Application Based Preference Eligibles (Military Reserve and National Guard technicians, Military Reserve and National Guard technicians receiving disability retirement, and Retained Grade employees) will receive priority consideration at the full performance level only.
For grades below the full performance level, only MSP/PPP eligible candidates who currently occupy a formal training program position will be entitled to exercise their priority preference.
