This job involves leading a team of engineers and scientists to manage environmental compliance programs for the Navy, ensuring projects stay on budget and meet regulatory standards while supporting military readiness.
It includes overseeing research, technology integration, and customer support for issues like oil spill response.
A good fit would be an experienced engineering leader with strong management skills, knowledge of environmental laws, and a passion for mentoring teams in a government setting.
You will serve as a Senior Supervisory Engineer (Division Director) in the Environmental Compliance Division of NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND EXPEDITONARY WARFARE CENTER.
This position is part of the Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (EXWC) Personnel Demonstration Project.
The ND-04 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 through GS-15. This position has a control point of GS-14 Step 10.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 to GS-14 grade level or ND-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Experience in leading or managing medium to large teams/groups to deliver products or services.
2) Experience in planning, executing, and monitoring program or project budgets, toward achieving business or project goals.3) Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver influential presentation materials to a wide variety of audiences, including senior managers.4) Knowledge of the structure of the Navy organization and how compliance with environmental requirements ties with warfighter readiness.
5) Broad knowledge of Federal, state and local environmental rules and regulations as well as Navy and DoW policies.
6) Experience in developing and implementing strategic approaches and process improvement efforts.
