This job involves leading safety and occupational health programs for Navy installations in the Washington, D.C.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the Enviromental/ Safety Department of HDQTRS NDW.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing expert advice and direction, and assessing regional activity programs effectiveness, program elements and program administration.

2) Preparing reports, briefings, budget documentation/justifications and in developing written policies and procedures in relation to safety and occupational health.

3) Representing organization at conferences and meetings and in correspondence with Senior Government, Military and Civilian Officials, Unions, National Organizations, etc.

4) Assisting in the development of safety and occupational health surveillance programs. Please note- This information must be supported on your resume.

  • You will serve as the principal safety and occupational advisor to the Regional Program Director.
  • You will assign program activities to subordinate organizational levels and evaluate safety requirements proposed for future facilities and new equipment procurements.
  • You will plan, organize and conduct a Region-wide comprehensive inspection activity and evaluate the effectiveness of the occupational safety requirements in the work environment.
