Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Managing the planning or execution of major real estate acquisition, management, or disposal projects; 2) Negotiating legal agreements for the acquisition, management, or disposal of federal real property interests; AND 3) Interpreting or analyzing real estate regulations to perform work related to civil works or military projects.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral Communication Project Management Real Estate Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Major Duties:

  • Plan, schedule, direct, accomplish, supervise, and review all civil, military, leasing, projects, and work for others real estate activities under the jurisdiction of the Corps of Engineers.
  • Ensure the acquisition of real property interests for civil and military works, leasing, and other projects through purchase, condemnation, exchange, transfer, lease, and permit.
  • Out-grant various real estate interests which include, but are not limited to, agricultural and grazing leases, road and utility easements, public park leases, permits to other Federal agencies, and a wide variety of other out-grants.
  • Incumbent is responsible for the direction of contract work, including items such as budget, deadlines, standards of work, and arranging for work inspections.
  • Review transactions and instruments for completeness and compliance with policies and goals of the Division, the District, and USACE.
