Full Job Description

This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Asst Secretary for Community Planning and Development. Washington D.C.

is a potential duty location for this position; however, the Washington D.C. office is expected to relocate to Alexandria, Virginia.

Selectees may be required to report initially to Washington, D.C and later report to Alexandria, Virginia.

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized Experience for this position includes: Leading and providing guidance for projects or staff.

Develop plans and solutions regarding administrative tasks for program offices; AND Overseeing and planning projects as well as other administrative tasks (ex.

such as supply, budget, procurement, budget functions, or travel and space management); AND Maintain files and update standard operating procedures; AND Communicates with internal and external stakeholders through writing and oral communication.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-15 you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.

Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

CPD seeks to develop viable communities by promoting integrated approaches that provide decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expand economic opportunities for low and moderate-income persons.

The primary means toward this end is the development of partnerships among all levels of government and the private sector, including for-profit and non-profit organizations.

As a/an Supervisory Program Specialist (Director Admin Services Division), you will: Oversee administrative requirements related to official travel, assuring compliance of travelers to rules and regulations, formulating budget requirements, adherence to budget allotment.

Serve as project manager and manage subordinate staff for space projects. Work with program offices to assess needs, develop solutions, requests funding for projects.

Work with CPD Budget Office to identify funding for multi-million-dollar space renovations. Provide oversight and guidance through area of responsibility for CPD wide records management program.

Serve as alternate records liaison officer, working through the Correspondence Unit Chief.

Provide guidance and information concerning records disposition, timelines, resources for the protection and execution of a robust program.

Provide centralized resources to ensure compliance with Departmental requirements for FOIA requests, compliance and adherence to guidelines and policies.

Supervise CPD wide contract management and execution of resources. Work with program offices, and subordinate staff to execute various program defined contracts.
