Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PROGRAM MANAGER in the MANPOWER AND RESERVE AFFAIRS of HQ US MARINE CORPS.

The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze.

Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-13) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing qualitative and quantitative assessments to improve program effectiveness, managing complex management processes and systems, and developing process improvements to enhance effectiveness.

  • You will serve as a source of information and advice on program issues that require assessment of unusual circumstances or variations in approach and development of new methods and criteria
  • You will participate in planning conferences with supervisory and program managers, as well as, primary staff, to provide necessary information pertaining to the program specialty and/or operational events that are occurring
  • You will administer a complex WWR program, manages the execution of the Operations section budget, resources, administration, requests for procurement, and other resources.
  • You will perform long-range planning and management of new substantive programs where precedents are scarce or nonexistent.
  • You will determine the need for written policies and procedures, designates subordinates to develop policy and procedural documents, and reviews and approves them upon completion.
