Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of nuclear engineers at a naval shipyard in Hawaii, where you'll oversee the creation and implementation of safety procedures for testing nuclear systems on ships.

You'll manage staff, ensure efficient operations, and act as the top expert on nuclear testing to keep everything running safely and effectively.

It's ideal for an experienced nuclear engineer who enjoys supervising others and has a background in naval or high-stakes technical environments.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-12 level or equivalent, coordinating and developing nuclear test procedures
  • Professional engineering background in nuclear systems, including radiological and technical work documents

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY NUCLEAR ENGINEER in the NUCLEAR TEST ENGINEERING DIVISION of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer coordinating, developing, and issuing Nuclear Test Procedures to ensure radiological, Technical Work Documents, and other requirements are met for the effective and safe operation and testing of nuclear systems.

  • You will exercise administrative and technical supervision over subordinates for professional nuclear engineering work

  • You will perform senior professional nuclear engineer duties including the preparation of all procedures required to conduct nuclear evolutions and providing required reactor plant conditions for overhaul and repair work.
  • You will serve as senior technical advisor on nuclear test matters
