Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY MUSEUM CURATOR in the National Museum if the Marine Corps of TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND.

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting in managing Museum programs and functions, to include collections management, working with objects (curatorial), exhibits, restoration, visitor services, education, and facility management.

  • You will manage the infrastructure necessary to ensure the smooth administration of all functions related to the Museum.
  • You will ensure that contracts are in place to provide for basic building, security, IT, and other services essential to asset protection, visitor safety, and efficient operations of the facility.
  • You will charter and establishe special purpose, interdisciplinary teams as necessary to meet work surges, accomplish projects, and to develop advanced skills in the staff.
  • You will assist in in establishing a budget that supports the Museum's operational needs and special requirements of the strategic plan.
  • You will work with all Museum branches to ensure that their annual goals and routine needs are accurately reflected in the budget and that the departments execute their budgets responsibly.
  • You will advise the senior staff on a broad range of standard operating procedures, policies, formal instructions, orders that set standards for operations and protecting the material history assets of the Corps.
