Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S.
Border Patrol, Laredo Sector Headquarters, Mission Readiness Operations, located in Laredo, TX.
Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Performing functions in Logistics management programs Developing guidelines for the use by other specialist Establishing measurement criteria to evaluate administrative functions Managing fleets, equipment, and supplies Performing review and analysis of logistics procurement and other areas of mission support resources.

This position starts at a salary of $110,556.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $143,724.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
In this Supervisory Mission Support Specialist (Logistics) position, you are a key team member of Homeland Security professionals providing advisory and technical services to management.
Typical work assignments include: Managing the sectors property program to include acquisition, receiving, transferring, excessing, reutilization, repairing, disposal, and retiring of various types of property.
Managing the sectors fleet program to include overseeing the ordering, receiving, inventorying, transferring, and excessing fleet vehicles.
Assigning and explaining work requirements to subordinate staff while establishing production standards and preparing performance work plans and appraisals.
Providing a full range of supervisory functions for a staff that providing a diverse range of mission support services.
Performing other mission support-related duties for the sector, such as scheduling of travel, processing personnel actions such as payroll, vacation, and/or overtime, analyzing the local office's budget, and serving as a point of contact for the sector office.
