The primary purpose of this position is to advise the Support Squadron Commander on logistics, depot maintenance, facility and HR related issues.

The position leads and manages the center's logistics and depot maintenance requirements to meet mission objectives in support of the US Atomic Energy Detection System.

This is a GG-14 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS).

The GG-14 duties for the "Supervision/Management" work category are at the "Senior" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-14 level.

The selectee's salary will be set within the 14 grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position.

Examples of creditable experience include: Expert level logistics and maintenance background and knowledge to bridge gaps in available guidelines and directives to accomplish the mission and to correct documentation deficiencies.

Assist in leading an organization responsible for logistics, depot maintenance, program management, facilities management, and HR services.

Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.

Authoritative knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, policies, principles, methods, procedures, and other guidance related to various functions of acquisition and life-cycle logistics support; and understanding of the inner relationships of the various functions, and strong working knowledge of the entire logistics Life-Cycle management system to manage the multiple new intelligence systems that are fielded annually.

2. Expert knowledge of organization and understanding of the specialized needs of the programs or operational areas supported.

Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a medium sized organization.

Ability to serve as a proactive advisor to senior leaders, by identifying and persuasively recommending alternative organizational designs that will assist management and establishing organizational structures that are efficient, cost efficient, cost effective, and facilitate career development.

3. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices and procedures to maintain control of classified material in a complex security environment. 4.

Advanced ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Ability to conduct analysis across multiple mission areas and effectively communicate decisions rationale to senior managers to sufficient to promote understanding and acceptance of decisions.

Comprehensive knowledge of the methods and techniques of fact-finding, analysis and resolution of problems and the development of concrete action plans to solve problems and negotiate resolutions. 5.

Skill and stratifying resources against approved programs; planning, presenting, and executing budget; analyzing budgets impacts on program; forecasting long-term funding requirements; reviewing, evaluating, and presenting data; and supporting analysis of staff office programs and activities specialized documentation, etc.

Ability to analyze, plan, organize, direct, and adjust the functions and supervise, mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.

Ability to make authoritative judgments and prepare effective analysis, briefings and reports and to motivate people or groups to action. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: 1.

Position is designated special-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. 2. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program.

Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.

Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. 3.

The duties of this position meets all requirements as a category 4 designation and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the parent Federal Agency or office to function effectively.

This position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and CAN NOT become a member of the Ready Reserves. (IASW: DoDD 1200.7, "Screenings the Ready Reserve").

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

1.

Assists the Support Squadron Commander in leading an organization comprised of 61 active duty (officer and enlisted), 28 civilians (WG-05 to GG-14), responsible for providing logistics, depot maintenance, program management, facilities management, and HR services.

2. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities 3. Represents AFTAC to a variety of installation and functional area organizations. 4.

Provides management, acquisition, and technical expertise.
