Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to manage the planning, support, and maintenance of flight systems and strategic weapon programs for the Navy, ensuring everything from acquisition to long-term upkeep runs smoothly.

It requires overseeing resources, advising leaders, and coordinating with contractors to meet mission goals.

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or NH-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: support planning and management activities for acquisition and sustainment at a command integration level; leading teams in lifecycle logistics management operations to provide guidance and quality assurance of integrated product support processes for ship combat or weapon system programs or platforms.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will plan, organize, and oversee the product support planning and management activities of acquisition and sustainment for the Program Management Office, Flight Systems.
  • You will exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advise and provide counsel to military and civilian employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
  • You will ensure integrated product support organizational changes are carried out in an effective manner and that resources are properly applied to meet command goals in a timely and organized fashion.
  • You will advise command leaders on all aspects of integrated product support operations in relation to mission accomplishments and on the majority of policy revisions required to ensure effective product support.
  • You will participate in the preparation, formulation, and implementation of polices and interrelationships between numerous strategic weapon systems and contractor organizations.
  • You will direct and coordinate Program Management Office, Flight Systems task assignments for all Integrated Product Support efforts in support of relevant agency Flight systems and programs.
  • You will provide coordination between the agency, the prime contractor, and other agencies in the development and implementation of program plans.
  • You will continuously forecast strategic weapon system requirements based on evolutionary changes in planning guidelines by relating scheduled production to forecasted requirements.
