Examples of experience demonstrating this competency include: Defining and maintaining a secure network architecture and infrastructure. 2.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

Experience demonstrating this competency include: Analyzes and evaluates proposed changes to the facility. 3.

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

Examples of experience demonstrating this competency include: Reviewing designs for on-site configurations and provide recommendations for improvement and propose alternative strategies to government, technical, engineering, military, and other contractor personnel to conduct system and equipment tests, upgrades, and modifications.

4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Examples of experience demonstrating this competency include: Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of services.

In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have qualifying experience such as: -Experience installing, testing, maintaining and upgrading systems software.

-Experience conducting risk and vulnerability assessments of installed information systems, conducting systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews.

-Experience assessing security events to determine impact and implementing corrective actions. -Experience advising and instructing employees on work and administrative matters.

This position is within the Work Category SUPERVISION AND MANAGEMENT at Work Level FULL-PERFORMANCE, Series and Grade GG-2210-13.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/SYSADMIN) in the External Support Department (N9), Makalapa Tech Control (N94), Makalapa VTC (N946) of Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station, Pacific (NCTAMS PAC).
  • You will be responsible for supervising the maintenance and efficient operations, including tier 3 level troubleshooting of a server and associated network gear.
  • You will develop network backup and recovery procedures.
  • You will develop systems security contingency plans and disaster recovery procedures.
  • You will monitor routine inspections and maintenance, software installations, software patches, software/hardware upgrades, and configuration management for error conditions to troubleshoot equipment operations and assess system health.
  • You will identify and document engineering, installation, and maintenance problems, proposed changes to installation and engineering plans, software revisions, and technical documentation, as necessary.
  • You will monitor and respond to multimedia help desk issues as necessary and offer external customers advice on appropriate multimedia formats, presentation techniques, and operational requirements.
  • You will provide technical support to generate system and equipment reports, such as status reports, performance reports, after action reports, maintenance reports, and others as required.
  • You will plan work and establish priorities, assigns and monitors work assigned to subordinates based on priorities, workloads, difficulty of assignments, and employees’ capabilities.
  • You will develop performance standards, discuss employee performance, rate subordinate employees and recommend performance awards and salary/bonus distribution for subordinate employees.
  • You will make or recommend decisions on hiring, promotion, or reassignments of subordinate employees.
