This job involves leading a team to manage and improve information security for defense intelligence systems, ensuring they follow strict government rules while adapting to new technologies and risks.
It requires guiding policies, evaluating IT projects for security, and developing smart solutions to protect national interests.

Defines parameters and gives substantive guidance on the procedures and methods identified in accordance with DoD, IC, and national level security policies. 2.
Recommends implementation in situations where emerging technologies could contribute to continual process improvements for information systems security. 3.
Develops and employs strategies to analyze key issues, drawing conclusions from data and recommending viable solutions to address Agency mission needs. 4.
Evaluates possible risks prior to major investments or deployments to determine whether or not a new IT initiative, program, and/or project should be implemented. 5.
Devises innovative and adaptive solutions to meet changing priorities or unforeseen obstacles. HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS 1.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in cybersecurity with at least 5 years focused on security architecture and systems engineering. 2.
Expert knowledge of NIST Risk Management Framework, FISMA requirements, Zero Trust Architecture, and other federal security standards, including specific expertise in NIST SP 800- 30 (Risk Assessment), SP 800-37 (Risk Management Framework), SP 800-53 (Security Controls), SP 800-53A (Assessment), SP 800-137 (Information Security Continuous Monitoring), and SP 800-160 (Systems Security Engineering).
3. Significant experience with formal Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes.
Individual Occupation Requirements ALTERNATIVE A All Applicants must meet the following minimum qualification requirements in order to be considered for this position: Requirements may be met either through Education and/or Experience and/or a combination of both.
Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
The coursework must be either undergraduate or graduate and must include a minimum of 24 semester hours in one, or a combination of the following: computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
Level/Education: GG-07 : One (1) full year of graduate level education; or Bachelor’s degree with superior academic achievement GG-09: Master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree; OR two (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree GG-11 and above: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree; OR three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.

Education must demonstrate the competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
OR Experience Experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, certification), as appropriate.
For all positions, individuals must demonstrate they have experience in each of the four competencies listed below; the experience does not have to be IT-related.
The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. 1.
