Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT/NETWORK) in the COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS DIRECTORATE of MARITIME OPERATIONS CENTER.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: supervising or leading network operations, customer support services, or enterprise IT systems, including directing daily network operations; managing system performance, troubleshooting, and/or incident response; enforcing network security policies; coordinating with stakeholders; and/or ensuring operational continuity within an IT environment.

Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

  • You will oversee the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of network operations under the guidance of the Administrative Site Technical Director.
  • You will plan, assign, review, and approve the work of subordinate staff; set priorities; establish performance standards and conduct performance evaluations.
  • You will manage the section's budget, including tracking expenditures, forecasting needs, and justifying resource requests.
  • You will oversee Tier 1, 2, and 3 IT Support duties and responsibilities and serve as the technical escalation point for highly complex and mission-critical incidents escalated from Tier 2 and Tier 3 support.
  • You will lead complex troubleshooting efforts, often involving multiple interconnected systems and requiring collaboration with specialized IT teams.
  • You will develop, implement, and manage operational procedures for the classified network operations and user support functions within the SCIF.
  • You will interact with external entities, including program offices, Fleet operators, other IT sections, vendors, and higher headquarters, to understand IT requirements, coordinate activities, and ensure effective support.
  • You will oversee the implementation and enforcement of network security policies, incident response, and controls to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of networks and systems.
