Summary

This job involves leading a team to manage and secure IT systems, ensuring they follow government cybersecurity rules and support naval operations.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 pay band (or GS-13 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector administering, operating, or maintaining systems, hardware and software necessary to sustain installation-level Information Management, Cybersecurity, or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) programs in accordance with established Department of War (DoW) cyber guidelines.

Your experience must also reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: analyzing and evaluating cyber security requirements and capabilities for all work processes using computers.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: providing cyber security and IT oversight support and policy interpretation to the organization.

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: presenting briefings to-senior management officials on complex issues.

Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

  • You will exercise managerial authority for the objectives, direction, and integration of policy governing Information Management (IM), Cybersecurity (CS), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
  • You will apply advanced principles of Cybersecurity and IT security compliance to assess, evaluate, and monitor enterprise-level programs for compliance with federal laws and regulations.
  • You will analyze complex, Cyber-related policies and programs and apply information assurance principles to assess new systems, networks, and software for potential security risks and vulnerabilities.
  • You will implement and utilize Cybersecurity policies, methods, and resources in complex operational environments, including continuous monitoring, incident response, and system accreditation.
  • You will provide expert technical guidance on critical IT security issues and to express complex technical information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, including senior executive leaders.
  • You will plan and assign work to subordinates, setting priorities, evaluating performance, and providing guidance on work and administrative matters.
  • You will interview candidates, develop performance standards, resolve grievances, and make decisions on training needs.
