About the Position: As a full assistant to the Operations Manager, collaborates in the preparation and/or planning of recreational facilities and programs including 523 campsites, 78 picnic sites, 22 launching ramps, power plant, 3 beaches, visitor center, 10 group shelters, a highly developed youth group area, and 62 structures plus 25 hunter/fisherman areas.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11).

Major Duties:

  • Assists in coordination of construction and campsite rehabilitation contracts and Master Plan with other Divisions within the District.
  • Supervises subordinate GS and WG staff in the capacity of a first line supervisor.
  • Approves/disapproves work plans submitted by subordinate staff. Evaluates performance of subordinate staff.
  • Exercises originality, creativity, skill, and professional natural resource management competence when assisting in interpreting and converting broad national and District policy objectives into specific plans and programs for the project.
  • Reviews status of expenditures, obligations, and recommends and/or directs necessary changes in funds to implement project programs.
  • Assists with preparation and implements flood and disaster notification plans.
  • Provides program maintenance guidance on repairs of roads, buildings, utility systems, vehicles, boats, and construction equipment.
