Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to manage and support IT systems for industrial control and operational technology in a naval engineering command, focusing on network setup, security, and problem-solving across departments.

A good fit would be someone with strong technical IT experience, excellent people skills, and the ability to handle projects in a fast-paced government environment.

It requires supervising junior staff and advising senior leaders on tech issues and policies.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (PLCYPLN) in the Command Information Office (CIO) of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

This position is the Supervisory Information Technology Program Manager for Industrial Control Systems (ICS) support.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Demonstrates experience in analyzing, installing, configuring, enhancing and/or maintaining the components of an enterprise network and/or systems; 2) Possesses excellent communication, interpersonal, project management, and governance skills; 3) Possesses analysis, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills while working with a variety of departments and shareholders who may have different goals for a project; 4) Manages or assists in the management of Information Technology(IT); and 5) Leads or participates in projects related to infrastructure operating and maintenance plans for Information Assurance (IA) and IT, through evaluation of system design, condition, constraints, future requirements, etc.

  • You will serve as the technical expert and program manager on all ICS IT support issues to the Command Information Officer, OT Division Head, Business Line/Support Line/Product Line managers and other managers and employees.
  • You will administer information assurance (IA) programs to support the operation of operational technology (OT) networks or infrastructures.
  • You will evaluate operational technology (OT) operation performance to resolve problems (e.g., excessive failures, delays, high operating costs).
  • You will brief senior leaders on problematic trends and patterns (e.g., technology maturity, availability, costs, risks) in an operational technology (OT) program.
  • You will write operational technology (OT) policies to define support processes and procedures.
  • You will delegate tasks to junior employees based on work priorities and individual capabilities.
