Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to estimate and analyze costs for naval air weapons systems, ensuring accurate and timely reports for high-level decisions in the Department of the Navy.

You'll supervise staff, develop new tools and processes, and guide multi-disciplinary projects from planning to presentation.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-13/14 level or equivalent in acquisition cost estimating, modeling, and analysis for air weapons systems

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Supervisory Industrial Engineer/Operations Research Analyst in the SYSTEMS ACQUISITION GROUP, COST & SCHEDULE ANALYSIS DEPT, ACQUISITION COST ESTIMATING & ANALSYSIS (ACE&A) DIV of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

In addition to the basic education requirements, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NM-04 pay band (or GS-13/14) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Applying knowledge of the concepts, principles, and methods of acquisition cost estimating, modeling, and analysis for air weapons systems/subsystems and acquisition strategies; 2) Providing overall technical direction and leadership to multi-disciplined teams and coordinating functions between various groups to complete acquisition cost estimating and analysis products; 3) Communicating acquisition cost estimating and analysis end product briefs at various leadership levels.

  • You will ensure that all products and services provided to Cost Department Customers are in accordance with established Cost Department policy, procedures and processes.
  • You will provide Cost Department Customers with cost products that are accurate, timely, and consistent and meet Cost Department quality standards.
  • You will coordinate reviews with the Cost Department Director(s) prior to meetings/events where analysis or products represented as department analysis are being presented to high ranking officials.
  • You will contribute to change and growth within the Cost Department by assisting in the research and development of new tools, techniques, processes, and training.
  • You will be familiar with Department of Defense Directives and Department of Defense (DoD) Regulations which describe the current defense acquisition process.
  • You will serve as a supervisor in planning, managing, supervising, and evaluating the organization’s functions, programs, and resources.
  • You will evaluate work performance of subordinates and recommends official performance ratings.
  • You will identify developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training.
