Job Description

Summary

This job involves overseeing military housing operations, including planning, budgeting, and ensuring facilities meet the needs of service members and their families, such as those in special programs for wounded warriors or exceptional family members.

A good fit would be someone with experience managing housing programs in a government or military setting, who is skilled at leading teams, developing policies, and handling budgets.

It requires strong organizational skills to handle day-to-day operations and long-term improvements in housing services.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing housing management plans and procedures, applying housing policy, and providing advice on all matters relating to the management, operation, and utilization of housing assets and facilities; creating and implementing new ideas, technological advances in programs and policies, and creating improvements in overall assigned housing programs.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will be responsible for the overall integrated management, planning, scheduling of facilities that requires a variety of berthing management and administrative knowledge in berthing activities.
  • You will assist with policy development, policy interpretation and implementation, program management, oversight, compliance of privatized housing business agreements and administration of housing activities.
  • You will develop and establish directives and implement guidelines for all housing management activities including housing accommodations and accessibility for Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) and Wounded Warrior program participants.
  • You will serve as a housing enterprise analyst responsible for apprising higher authority on the status of military members occupying PPV housing.
  • You will develop, justify, and defend budgets, such as the three-year budget and five-year management plan based on known and anticipated requirements.
  • You will plan, prioritize, schedule and assign work to staff, establish work priorities and deadlines, and implement process improvements which eliminate or reduce barriers to productivity.
