Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of engineers at a naval facility in Washington, overseeing the maintenance, modernization, and quality of strategic weapon systems like the TRIDENT II.

You'll manage resources, guide technical projects, and ensure contractors deliver safe and reliable equipment.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the Engineering Division (SPB27) for the Weapon Systems/Support Equipment (SE) of STRATEGIC WEAPONS FACILITY PACIFIC.

This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-4 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15.

In addition to the basic education requirement, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or NH-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer experience with conducting planning, allocating resources, and providing technical and professional guidance; and monitoring of contractor during the lifecycle for the TRIDENT II strategic weapons program systems or subsystems.

Examples of qualifying experience: Leading system, subsystems or associated components delivery; coordinating engineering maintenance and modernization; reviewing pre-deployment Strategic Systems or subsystem assessment and quality review; or leading multi-disciplinary engineering program staff in the production and delivery of strategic weapons systems or subsystems.

  • You will lead the Engineering Division, managing all personnel, overseeing performance, and ensuring the team effectively accomplishes its mission.
  • You will direct all programs for the facility's core technical systems, leading engineering studies, managing maintenance, and approving solutions to system deficiencies.
  • You will provide critical government oversight of contractor performance, ensuring all work is technically accurate, efficient, and compliant with contractual requirements.
  • You will act as the lead technical expert and authority on the facility's core systems, providing oversight and approving solutions for complex engineering challenges.
  • You will manage engineering services for all technical systems and associated hardware, developing policies and corrective actions to ensure equipment meets all safety, quality, and reliability standards.
