Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to manage budgets and financial operations for Navy installations in Japan, including creating budget plans, reviewing requests, and advising on cost-effective methods.

It's a supervisory role where you'll guide staff, set priorities, and ensure smooth financial administration across multiple sites.

A good fit would be someone with strong experience in government or organizational budgeting who enjoys leadership and working in an international military environment.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-12 level or equivalent in developing and interpreting budgetary policies for multiple locations
  • Knowledge of all phases of budget administration, including formulation, evaluation, and defense of estimates
  • Ability to analyze and recommend costs and benefits of alternative financial management methods
  • Supervisory skills to plan work, set priorities, schedule tasks, and provide technical/administrative oversight to subordinates
  • Experience in reporting obligations and expenditures
  • Familiarity with financial administration and program management (Series 0501)

Please see Additional Information section below.*** Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing, and interpreting budgetary policies and practices for multiple locations.

  • You will perform and advise on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration.
  • You will perform work involving: formulation of budget/cost estimates to support plans and programs, evaluate budget requests, presenting and defending budget estimates before authorities, and reporting of obligations and expenditures.
  • You will analyze and recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organization's programs and administrative operations.
  • You will plan work, set priorities and schedule work as necessary to subordinates.
  • You will provide technical and administrative oversight, advice and instruction.
