About the Position: Serves as the Supervisory Environmental, Safety and Occupation Health Officer for an Operations Division Project.
The incumbent is the point of contact and expert consultant for all environmental and safety compliance, implementation, inspection, auditing, monitoring and reporting responsibilities, including regulatory compliance to Federal, State and local requirements at the Projects.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Applying knowledge of environmental law and safety statutes and regulations sufficient to evaluate programs ensuring compliance; 2) Applying knowledge of environmental programs such as Environmental Review Guide & Operations, National Environmental Policy Act, and Federal Agency Environmental Management Program sufficient to plan and implement safety protocols during site visits; and 3) Resolving environmental and/or safety program issues related to air emissions, hazardous materials management, hazardous waste management, petroleum, oil, and lubricants management, and/or solid waste management, etc.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Environmental Assessment and Data Analysis Environmental Compliance and Preventive Action Risk Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
