Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-10. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading a team of technicians and engineers to test and oversee the mechanical, electrical, and propulsion systems on nuclear-powered submarines during construction, repair, or upgrades at a naval shipyard.
You'll act as an expert advisor, review contractor work, and ensure everything meets safety and performance standards.
It's a great fit for someone with hands-on experience in ship or submarine engineering who enjoys supervising teams and solving technical challenges in a high-stakes environment.
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Test Division of the Engineering Department of SUPSHIP.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NJ-03 pay band (GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing technical guidance on the testing and evaluation of propulsion, hull, mechanical, or technical systems for submarine or ship systems.
