Full Job Description

You will serve as a Supervisory Electronics Engineer in the Fleet Support Team Engineering Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Utilizing knowledge and skill applying the advanced theories, concepts, principles, standards, and methods practiced in the science of electronics engineering; (2) Leading and/or managing technical aircraft (i.e.

E-2/C-2 ) electronics projects individually or as a team member; (3) Assessing the complexity of a project and delegating duties as needed to ensure products are delivered within prescribed timelines; (4) Analyzing engineering issues and utilizing experienced judgment to solve a variety of highly complex technical problems; (5) Utilizing aircraft and avionics/electrical systems knowledge to anticipate potential complications that technical changes may have on assigned weapon system programs and ensuring timely integration and clear communication with involved entities; (6) Providing expert technical electronics engineering advice and guidance on a wide variety of electronic issues; and (7) Demonstrating knowledge of the budgetary/fiscal process and responsibilities within the Navy/DoD as they relate to In-Service Engineering (ISE) planning, execution, and reporting.

  • You will negotiate, advise, and collaborate with all levels of officials in the industry concerning their aircraft programs, policies, and procedures to assess the impact and requirements of current and proposed electronic engineering actions.
  • You will assist in the development and execute the planning, directing, and prioritizing of activities concerning the area under supervision, and therefore, must routinely adapt to frequent and unpredictable changes in programs and funds.
  • You will provide resources and processes to support and maintain the intended mission capability and to preserve the planning of its operational life to achieve readiness goals.
  • You will plan and/or conduct electronic engineering investigations as well as evaluate any significant situations, which may arise to take appropriate planning steps to initiate prompt responsive action.
  • You will lead and coordinate the technical research of serious and complex electronic engineering issues, which usually requires many technical fields and engineering/scientific disciplines.
  • You will apply a thorough knowledge of a variety of standard guides, precedents, methods, techniques, and practices as well as innovative processes in order to provide team guidance in resolving electronic engineering problems.
  • You will participate in meetings and conferences convened to discuss engineering issues, problems, design, and development of new and/or upgraded systems and other similar matters.
  • You will provide technical professional expertise and oversight to ensure the latest advancement in electronic engineering technology along with coordinating the evaluation and testing requirements to use new or emerging processes.
