GS-15: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level or pay band in the Federal service that includes performing the following duties: 1) Providing regulatory, investigative and technical supervision responsibility for carrying out agency and program goals 2) Providing guidance in order to prevent and eliminate the illicit diversion of controlled pharmaceuticals and listed chemicals; 3) Advising staff regarding policies, procedures and directives of higher level management or headquarters; 4) Establishing policies, procedures and programs pertaining to the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) and the Chemical Diversion and Trafficking Act (CDTA) and 5) Providing advice and guidance on issues and requirements of the diversion control programs essential to DEA's mission.

The Supervisory Diversion Control Manager (Section Chief) position in Stafford, Virginia is located in the following sections: Criminal Diversion Training Section (Office of Training)- Operations Division Among other duties, this position will support: Supporting the Diversion Control Division (DC) with the primary responsibility for the daily direction and supervision of all Diversion staff in the TRC Units who are responsible for the directing entry-level, in-service and specialized training of Diversion Investigators.

Providing supervision over a group of supervisory investigators primarily involved in the planning and overseeing of the investigation(s) of controlled pharmaceuticals and listed chemicals.

Providing technical and administrative management over supervisory investigators primarily involved in planning and overseeing investigations of potential diversion of controlled pharmaceuticals and listed chemicals.

These investigations primarily involve cases at the higher echelon or of greater overall significance, generally with national or international involvement.

Ensuring that all investigations are conducted within the scope of the Federal drug laws and are in accordance with the agency's rules, policies, and regulations.

Supporting the Diversion Control Division (DC), which is granted authority through the Controlled Substances Act (CSA), to regulate the manufacturing and distribution of controlled substances in the United States.

Establishing and implementing strategic objectives and priorities related to the Diversion Control Program.

Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with federal, state, and local agencies, the registrant community, and other contacts.
