This job involves leading a team of planners to create and manage long-term development plans for naval bases, ensuring projects run smoothly and on budget.
It focuses on overseeing infrastructure strategies, coordinating with experts, and improving team processes in a military setting.
A good fit would be someone with strong leadership experience in urban planning, especially for government or large-scale projects, who enjoys mentoring staff and solving complex organizational challenges.
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY COMMUNITY PLANNER in the Planning, Design, and Construction (PDC) Directorate's Strategic Planning Division (PDC3) of NAVFAC NORTHWEST.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Leading technical staff, assigning work and managing performance; 2) Possessing the mastery of urban and strategic planning concepts as they apply to military shore infrastructure; 3) Overseeing complex projects like Installation Master Plans and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality planning products; 4) Delivering superior communication and negotiation skills which are critical for briefing high-level leaders and representing the command in various forums; and 5) Managing Architect and Engineer (A&E) contracts, from preparing statements of work to reviewing deliverables.
