Summary

This job involves leading budget analysis for a military medical facility, where you'll review spending data, create financial plans, and brief senior leaders on budgets.

It's a supervisory role focused on ensuring efficient use of funds for healthcare operations.

About the Position: This position is located at the 59th Medical Wing - Joint Base San Antonio - Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center; Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assessing a medical facility's budgetary data to evaluate effectiveness of expenditures, delivering budgetary briefings to senior leaders, and developing standard operating procedures or written guidance for distribution.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Major Duties:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert and senior analyst, providing authoritative budgetary and financial analysis.
  • Perform administrative and analytical duties related to program/budget planning for assigned appropriations Defense Health Program (DHP) and Operations and Maintenance, Air Force (OM).
  • Revise, plan, guide, and evaluate the development and implementation of methods and procedures for budget formulation and administration.
  • Develop long-range budget concepts and procedures, funding policies and procedures and appropriate cost factors to be used in various financial considerations.
  • Prepare and/or provide special studies concerning resource impacts, complex financial areas and related command-wide budget planning systems.
  • Prepare a variety of charts, graphs and/or other graphics for briefings, reports and analysis for the Chief Resource Management Office and the Budget Officer.
